An Indian Environmentalist died yesterday ( May 21st)
SUNDERLAL BAHUGUNA (Gandhian Pioneer of Indian Environmentalism, Chipko Movement Leader) Sunderlal Bahuguna was a passionate defender of the Himalayan People, working for temperance, the plight of the Hill people. He also struggled to defend India's rivers. He was one of the early environmentalists of India. He got Padma Vibhushan award in 2009. Image 1 taken from Hindustan Times. The United Nations General Assembly declared May 21 as the International Tea Day. International Tea Day is observed on May 21st in an effort to create awareness about the safe working conditions of the tea workers, fair trade, and a sustainable environment in which the tea is being produced.
